No, it's just facts. 70% of Draisaitl's points are because he's on a line with McDavid. Rantanen has almost as many goals as Draisaitl without relying as heavily on others. There was a period of time when he was the only healthy top 6 forward for the Avs, and he still produced at a record pace
LOL, you're so biased. Firstly Draisaitl doesn't play on a line with McDavid all that often. Secondly Rantanen plays with MacKinnon, Makar and Toews all the time. Thirdly by comparing only goals you're flat out ignoring Draisaitl's passing abilities, which were voted best in the league by NHL players 2 years in a row. His 66 assists dwarf Rantanen's 38 helpers.
Over the past 4 years, here are their stats:
2. Draisaitl: 277, 173-241-414 (1.49 P/GP)
16. Rantanen: 240, 132-152-284 (1.18 P/GP)
They aren't even in the same zip code. Draisaitl has scored 110 points in 3 of the last 4 seasons (and was on pace for 123 in the 56-game COVID season). If it was so easy to rack up points playing occasionally with McDavid then everyone in Edmonton would be doing it. But they aren't.
So yeah, really ignorant comment.
