Canucks decline both. They won't pay to dump Myers, they will either move him to a team that views him as a positive asset or pay his signing bonus and then move him to a team that needs to reach the cap floor for FC's. If it costs to dump him, they'll just keep him for another year and let his contract run out. As for Boeser, Canucks won't move him for just a second. He's played a lot better under Tocchet (19 points in 25 games) and has probably played himself off the market. The Canucks have been clear that they want to contend and if they decide to move a guy like Boeser, it will be for NHL pieces, not picks.

None of these players would be enough - they're all just depth pieces, something we have in groves.
Boeser would probably be a great pickup, but would cost more.

Klingberg is really meh to me. I would like to see a bit more offence from the back end, he could bring that. Also thinking maybe Maatta could have the same effect on him as Hronek. I would prefer a one year deal but just went with two as I think he would want more stability maybe, I don't know. I think most of the other free agents available get more money and term than they should this year.
Hathaway brings more physicality and I just like him.

It's trying to have it both ways too me. Take a bunch of cap dumps which we've never really done except in a few instances and trade and sign to upgrade the line up. Im just not sure you can do both effectively. Plus I don't think there is any way they spend that much to the cap to be a non playoff team.

Myers doesn't get a return in my opinion. Futures considerations at most. Not many teams have the cap space for him or a roster spot. Anaheim is the only other team that makes sense to me cause they could use a bit more cap, even though they have some big RFA's to sign. Other than that we could use him and have the space but have no reason to pay for him when there are multiple cheaper and better options in free agency.
I understand on Boeser, figured one of him or Garland would be moved and I would like to have Boeser being a right handed shoot first type guy. We can also take his full cap hit easy enough. I wouldn't be opposed to putting Lindstrom in the trade, young shut down RHD who was really good last year but this year with this coach not quite as good. It wouldn't make sense for us to pay more than that for him and if that's not enough we would move on and Vancouver and move him for more if possible or move Garland.

We have depth pieces but our depth pieces aren't this good.
Faksa, although over paid, is good at faceoffs and PK. I think he could be a fine addition to the fourth line.
Myers is just whatever, could be a free agent signing as well. Just trying to add a pick and not have to give a guy more term than they deserve in free agency. He would work fine in a third pairing roll and not top 4 like he's been playing in Vancouver.
Vladar is, what I'm hoping, a good 1B option so we don't over work Husso again. I also want a goalie that could battle for top spot and is on the younger side. I think our goaltending is completely up in the air in the future.
Foligno is a hitting machine, really good defensively and is a great leader. He's the type of player I would love to see on this team.
Boeser, if possible if a right handed shoot first winger we could use. He would hopefully provide more offence for us.
The Fabbri trade doesn't happen unless the Boeser trade does.
Hathaway is another hitting machine. Good on the defensive end.
Klingberg on a kind of prove it deal again. Hoping to get a bit more offence from that back end. Paired with a responsible Maatta should be alright.
Basically what I was trying to do is make this team alot better defensively and alot harder to play against. Is the idea to win the cup with this team? Not even close but I would expect to be battling for a playoff spot or at least be more competitive. Trying to get the team trajectory into a positive direction.
Also all the moves I made didn't really cost us anything but cap space and dollars.

They aren't gonna spend the money on the cap dumps, they just don't seem willing.

Last offseason a second is what I was figuring it would take. I think a lot of his issues have been system, usage, and line mates. He’s a big defensive center which does have value in the league. And he’s shown that if played with the right wingers he can be useful offensively. He’s over paid but still a valuable player imo. I’d like to see him in Buffalo. Or if there’s a way to keep him and Domi I’d be fine with him staying in Dallas

Buffalo could use a guy like him for sure. I would like him in Detroit for his faceoffs and PK. I think he's like a mill over paid but we have the cap.

Agree. I could honestly see a team willing to take him without a sweetener. Hard to know. Just a matter of is there a GM that likes what he brings enough to take on that cap

What would you think, if they did want to move his salary of Faksa and a second for Veleno?

Easy no imo. Veleno hasn’t shown he can put up points in the NHL and I like what our front office has done with second round picks lately
