Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

habs pick between #4 and 5# - a great player like Michkov might slip by the top 4. I won't cry if Carlsson, Fantilli, Smith or Benson is picked.

Then, with a splash, habs move forward to grab Reinbacher far ahead of his projected draft position. In this case, I'm trading up 5 position with the Blues who are in the middle of a retool? Anyway, they get some good young players, notably the mighty Xhekaj.

Then AGAIN! Habs move to pick up the best QC kid available : Ethan Gauthier around pick #20 (lets say the AVS or NSH via the Oiler pick) by trading one of Edmundson or Dvorak.

Finally, Fan favourite Tomas TATAAAARRR is signed to a nice 2 year deal to play with Gally on his last leg. Perry is brought back because we loved him.

Caufield is signed to a 8yX8M deal and manages to score 50 next year.

It's approximative for sure - but I expect KH to do moves at the Draft to speed up the rebuild. Habs can afford 3-4 years of sucking... not 5 to 6.

Arber's value is high, but he falls behind Matheson, Ghule and Harris IMO, also we have Engstrom and Hutson coming up soon. Using Arber to secure another great RHD prospect is worth it. In this year's draft, Nemec would have ranked around Reinbacher - so I think the value is there.

Big no to moving Wifi to move up, those 5 picks aren't making enough of a difference.

NSH definitely declines that, it's the opposite of everything the Preds are trying to do right now.

Why pay to move a guy who has 1 year left?

Don't get me wrong - I love Arber - but I see the post above ^

I could see NSH maybe having interest in Evans for the interim but definitely not Eddy, and not for a '23 1st. Would most likely be a different squad, if it were to happen.

Blues don't need any of those pieces that are included. We have a boat load of LHD that are more or less clogged in that mould of a bottom pairing guy. Xhekaj and Tyler Tucker are pretty much redundant. Not much faith in Ylonen being anything more than a skill guy who isn't good enough for a top 6 role, and with Berube that's not a great combination. Smilanic is kind of redundant with Zach Dean now it seems. Not a bad prospect to have for sure but not worth moving down 4-5 spots.

Blues haven't had a pick above 15 (well 14) since 2008. Likelihood of them moving down is probably close to 0, they'll probably more so look to move up if possible from the later picks.
