Easy no for Winnipeg. They're not taking on a bad contract or waiting 3 years for one of the only two pieces that have value to Winnipeg.

Montreal is not giving up all that for PLD, we have a patientGM who has a good head on his shoulders and won't overpay for a guy that he has a good chance at signing in 1 year anyway.

Chances are CGY 1st is 2024. That's 1 year away from the trade. Even if it's in 2025, it's only 2 years after the trade. Conditions makes the pick more interesting in 2025.

FLA 2023 1st would be the best piece WPG could get from any team. Anyway, it's too much for PLD. FLA 2023 1st and Beck would be enough if rumors about MTL are true.

Yeah Beck and the Florida 1 are a good start, but are still a good prospect short. You'd be looking at a Horvat or Meier type return to be in the running.

As I said this offer is a no go as the only two pieces with any value to Winnipeg are the 1sts and there's no chance the Jets wait 3 drafts for one of the main pieces.

Would hope so. But everytime someon makes that type of deal on this site, the WIN fans go nuts and tells us off thinking they will keep him for the next 50 yrs. ubois has repeated that he won't sign long term with WIN, so on that end, why would WIN want to keep trying to keep him around while he's got high value? Best time to trade out a player who wants out is while they are hot. The problem with Dubois is that he specifically indicated that he wants to play home in MTL (which is amazing given 99% of the QC native players know they'll be criticized, harassed and dumped on if they don't live up to the expectations, just ask Drouin who is in fact a great passer but you know.. Some think he should be putting up 40 goals, 70 assists per year.. Which is not his style).

So if Dubois is actually being shopped around, the team that will get him may want to pay less given they may lose him in a year or so if he doesn't agree to long term right off the bat. So, being fair market, you give WIN a high price that would be dealt normally by other teams, and the WIN fans will not come here and crap all over the platform.

I also think the 2023 is pick by CAL should be enough with a good enough prospect. I'd try to keep Beck though.. He could round up the lines in a few years.
