Murray rejected a move to Buffalo on draft night. Maybe he would be open to this deal today, but Granato and Adams don’t want to trade for guys who aren’t interested in playing for the Sabres. At least that’s how I see it.

Would Buffalo consider a move similar to the one TOR made with CHI for Mrazek?

He only has 1 year left, and BUF has a roster of 18 with 20M in cap space as of this moment (according to CF).

I think Murray has been good enough to have some kind of value, and the Sabres are in need of an established starter.

All in all, I don't think we'd need to give up assets to trade him, but return would likely be minimal.

A drop in 30-40 spots that late in a draft isn't really giving up assets. TOR also has to make it enticing for BUF take all of Murray's salary, seeing as they have no real reason to. They could realistically sign an Adin Hill type goalie for less than what Murray makes and not have to exchange picks.

I'd say Buffalo has the reason to because they need a good starter to make the playoffs.

The Leafs also don't need to lose Murray, and they wouldn't run into any issues letting him play out his contract in Toronto.

Adams has said repeatedly since becoming GM that they want players who want to be in Buffalo. With Murray have nixed the trade in the offseason I doubt Adams would give picking him up a season later any consideration.

If Murray is healthy, then yes it would help. But i'd see him more of a backup role next year and they let UPL take the reigns. But he's an expensive backup with an injury history, not to mention they have Comrie still inked at 1.8M. Again, they don't have real cap issues, but there has to be enough value going to BUF to have them commit almost 5M to a goalie who may not play a lot. I still haven't seen a BUF fan respond to my proposal haha, hopefully they see it.

Did the leafs win at least a round in the playoffs? If not, their going to make changes and this is the same team as this year.
