Pittsburgh management has pretty openly stated they’re not buyers.

I think they sell off 1 year UFA's and bottom 6/bottom pair D (Lewis, Mackey, DeSimone, Ruzicka, Meloche, Zohorna) to get whatever draft capital they can. If we are rooting for chaos which is always fun, Treliving recognizes that Sutter wants more control, sees the writing on the wall in the last 3 months of his contract and says picks be damned whoever is here next year can clean up the cap mess!

Just seems weird to label a team, “clear buyer,” when their management has clearly said, “we’re not buying.”

Teams say that every year and yet when it comes to brass tacks and they are in the hunt they still make moves. They may not make huge moves but they still add depth.

Teams don’t often say they’re not adding. They often say they’re not selling for optic purposes, but it’s pretty rare they say they aren’t buying.

How is Philly not in the seller column?

The answer is two fold

1. They are less than 10 points out of the playoffs as per the definition of "seller" in the description
2. They have said they are not rebuilding so they are more likely to stand pat or make very minor moves IMO
