OK. That's understandable, but we're being left with no cap space. If Sakic is looking to position the team for cap compliance, PHI shouldn't have to throw in the sweetener of Sanheim's salary retention.

Philly is out right away just because the cap hit. We'd be adding 4 mill to the payroll. It leaves us with 1 mill to QO Frost& Tippett, plus add a backup goalie.

If it weren't the cap restraints, I'd be inclined to agree with ReelBigFan above

for Philly, I'd 1st need to know what Puljujärvi is looking for in dollars since we don't have a ton of cap space. 2nd, I'd want the 1st rounder to be a 2023 rather than 2022. Already being in the 2nd round of the playoffs means it's already locked in that the 2022 1st is going to be 24th or lower.

Agreed. Close; but with a shallow draft this year I'd only even start considering if the BOS 1st were in 2023. (EDM's 1st will likely be better this year, so I'm taking the higher of the 2) Either team throws in a 2023 3rd and and this becomes a serious conversation.

Flyers would say no despite the haul. Fletcher is already on record that the team is "retooling" not rebuilding. 3 of the 5 prospects coming aren't hitting the NHL (if at all) for at least another 2-4 years.

seriously? I take that in a heartbeat. Nurse isn't defensively as good as Provorov for sure, but he'll eat plenty of minutes. Add a bottom 6 in Foegele PLUS 2 1st's and a 2nd? Most definitely. We can find a more defensive capable d-man to pair with Nurse afterwards with all of that capitol coming our way,
