Scott Wheeler is a clown and not a reliable source. When the Wings drafted Elmer Söderblom in the 6th round Wheeler said: "To be honest, I haven't seen him play?" He is just a big dude who doesn't have a lot of skill". If he had actually scouted him he would know that Elmer is really skilled. He also said that the Seider & Marco Kasper picks where bad ones

The lesson here is if Scott Wheeler shuts out all hope on an Yzerman prospect...that player will most likely turn out awesome

I’m sure you can probably get a better singular prospect from another team that is a “Marco Kasper” type however, I would be irate if the Red Wings made this particular trade and I love Timo Meier.

For the record, I don’t see STL coming up with that kind of prospect so, if that’s what you’re looking for, it won’t come from the Blues. I could see them shipping multiple 1sts and lesser prospects, though.

NJD makes the most sense, Holtz isn’t regarded nearly as high as he once was but, naturally he seems like a key component to any Meier deal. I can’t see the Devils giving up any of Hughes, Nemec or even Seamus (all of whom are arguably better) so, maybe Shakir, Holtz and a 1st.

And this is just my opinion but I don’t think Shakir & Holtz is a better prospect duo than Wallinder & Mazur but, it’s pretty close.
