Description
Starting with our first pick in the upcoming draft:
- if we get Bedard/Fantilli they are probably playing the full season with the habs
- if we get Carlson I think we should give him 9 games in the NHL, and if he doesn't stick put him as the top center in the AHL
- Will Smith, Zach Benson and others would probably stay in their current leagues (other than Benson who should move on from the WHL)

Players I think could make the Habs next year
- Sean Farrel is probably going to sign after the NCAA season ends and should get a few games at the end of the year. 'Hoping' for a full time role next year
- William Trudeau could make the team next year. He wasn't a lock for Laval this season and shouldn't be considered a lock for the habs, but if there are injuries/a good training camp then I could see him taking up that last spot on defense

Players I think could play in Laval
- Lane Hutson has been dominating the NCAA, which is one of the most translatable leagues to the NHL. However, I think he should take it slow and start in Laval, get accustomed to the speed and size of professional hockey and look for him to play a game close to the end of the season and make a push for a roster spot in 2025.
-Logan Mailoux hasn't really lit up the OHL, but he still looks too good for the league and I think he could benefit from making the jump into the AHL to really push his defensive awareness and hockey IQ to the next level. I think this could be throwing him into the fire, but I think its a risk that is worth the reward

Just kinda threw this together in class but let me know your thoughts.

All of this seems entirely reasonable to an effective outsider, but you should pay more attention in class -- or else tell me what you think Jayden Struble is going to do.

I agree with the player MTL will draft with their 1st pick
I don't think Farrell get a roster spot next year because of Caufield/Slafkovsky/Hoffman/RHP/Pitlick
I think he starts in Laval and call up in case of injuries for a top 6 role
Trudeau isn't near NHL ready, we thought of sending him back in the Q, he is doing well in Laval but I wouldn't expect him to fight for a roster spot
Lane Hutson will stay another year in the NCAA to bulk up, he will get crushed in the AHL and you don't want that
Mailloux is definitely playing with the Rocket next year

I think he signs and MTL run :
Beaudin
Struble
Trudeau
in Laval next year
No reason not to sign him, he's been good with Northeastern despite not producing offensively

Its a class on income tax - don't know if I can pay much attention. I don't think Struble is going to sign, so wouldn't mind flipping him before his rights expire

Your right I didn't do a good job explaining it but I think Trudeau could only make the habs if ALOT were to go right. Theres a few other prospects I kinda forgot about but I think Hutson still could make Laval. He could get roughed up, but I think if he can bulk up this summer he could survive in Laval.

Also some information on other guys:
- Kidney, Mesar and Roy could all make Laval next year. I would add Beck to that list too but I think one more year in the OHL could help him really develop his game (Mesar could also benefit from one year in junior)
- I kinda forgot about the European guys, but Adam Engstrom could and should play in Laval next year. He's a great skater and looks like he's ready to make the transition. Oliver Kappanen is one of the best U20 producers in Finland and has done great for Kalpa, but I dont know if he has a spot in the future and I wouldn't mind packaging him with some other guys who I dont think will stay in MTL (Struble or Tuch) to upgrade for quality over quantity

Kidney Roy & Mesar are all going to play for Laval, Mesar could return in the OHL tho
Beck isn't allowed to play in the AHL, it's MTL or OHL
Engstrom Kapanen & Heineman will all remain overseas
Struble will come over and Tuch will return in the NCAA

MTL LHD in Laval next year :
Beaudin
Struble
Trudeau
Norlinder
Fairbrother

That's a lot of left shot dman

No need to rush Engstrom & Hutson
