Pager plays a position of value, kills penalties, wins faceoffs and has been a clutch postseason performer. Not saying that makes him worth a first, but this pick is in 2025 so it’s a ways out. That impacts the value. Also Greenway has like 6 points in 30 plus games and only 2 goals. So taking him back doesn’t really help the isles, and Beckmann projects as a bottom six winger. So I don’t really c a huge issue with my assessment. This is certainly closer to fair value for Pager than it is to Nelly….

I'm not a fan of trading Nelson, but if this were the trade I'd also be happy to retain $3M for you if you just upgrade Beckman to one of Ohgren/Yurov and maybe throw in another little treat at the end (mid-round pick or lottery ticket prospect.)

If the Islanders trade Nelson, they should 100% be fully retaining on him - every team in the league would come knocking at the door for a solid 2C with 30 goal potential on a 2x$3M. Getting a bidding war going at the cost of a couple year's dead cap is well worth it in my books.

Yurov/Ohgren is a bit too much but a first+ a B+ prospect along with a later round pick wouldn't be bad

Worth mentioning 1 goal has came at 5 v 5, but he somehow has 3 at even strength lol. Also two shorties. Seems flukey ngl. Also his shooting percentage is down a bit from the past few years which seems kind of odd too.
