Where does Iafallo go when Vilardi returns, 4th line is a waste of his talents?

Does Byfield center the 3rd line with Vilardi and Fiala to move iafallo back to the top line?

Does that mean that Kaliyev may get dealt in a deal for Chychrun (or maybe another player)? Moore just sitting out as a smoke screen. Or maybe they just got banged up?

No, I didn't say that, I said that the AP report on the MSN news crawl said that and was in error. Both Moore and Kaliyev had missed several games, Kaliyev by blocking a shot with his foot, hence my comment about appearing fast, which he probably wouldn't have if his foot injury hadn't completely healed.

Byfield has looked good to me on the top line, but I think that they see him as a future C and Vilardi as a future RW. I'm guessing Kempe at LW (except on the PP) with Vilardi, and Iafallo - Byfield - Fiala and JAD - Lizotte - Kaliyev.

Now you guys know why I think that the time is right to trade Iafallo. He seems to me like the perfect inclusion in an offer for a big-ticket (and big cap hit) LhD because he's not just a $ offset, he's a very valuable player.

Iafallo fits everywhere and can play. Top line minutes, between him and Moore we have these Swiss Army knives that just makes everyone better on all 200-feet. The guy who I think might be gone this off season I don’t think is Iafallo, I think it’s Arividsson, Danault plays well with everyone and Kaliyev and Vilardi are ready for more minute.

We should do a poll amongst ourselves on this subject.

Long term we need to find out who fills the out the below for next season open spaces between: Arvidsson, Iafallo, Vilardi, Kaliyev, Grundstrom, Turcotte, JAD, ****emo, and others.

I think you automatically want to put Arvidsson in that 2RW spot, but going younger might be the move. You might want to move Iafallo, but from the list above no one else plays better with Kopi. Also, we need to see Kaliyev and Vilardi get more ice time, those two are improving and will be wasted if not at least on Fiala’s line.

I can see your point about Arvidsson, and I will confess to having a sentimental attachment to him. I would love it if McLellan would put Kaliyev there. I'm really impressed with the way that Kaliyev's all-around game is developing, and I see a greater commitment to defensive responsibilities there than we usually get with players of his age. I'd put Vilardi on the first line at RW and leave Iafallo on the third line as that trio's defensive soul.

At the same time, Danault, Moore, and Arvidsson have something special, so maybe keep it going for just one more year, but at some point we have to save cap space and give opportunities to the future. I genuinely think Kaliyev and Vilardi could easily be 25-30 goal players in top-6 scenarios, but yeah Iafallo-Byfield-Fiala could become our future top line. I think this is the way we are headed. Hard decisions, but I like how many options we could have.
