So what aren't you understanding here? Most Leaf CFACGM's have Bert going to the Leafs for nothing. You're not giving a 1st for Bert. You're giving up a 1st for Bert and Kubalik. Both retained. The injured Robertson has Zero value and so does that other AHL plug you're offering.

You mean the overrated Nick Robertson who isn't anywhere close to his brother Jason, Plus is out for the season after a season ending shoulder injury. Plus a lousy prospect in Der-Arguchintsev and a late 1st that's anywhere from 26th to 28th overall currently. Yeah we'll keep both Bertuzzi and Kubalik. Yzerman is currently talking to Bertuzzi's agent per reports. So it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he's re-signed to a cheap 1-2 year deal.

The point is not sure it upgrades the team; bertuzzi has had a terrible year. Also, pretty much no chance to extend him unless you let Bunting walk & I prefer Bunting over Bertuzzi

Leafs fans should probably stop targeting bert. According to EF and Jeff Marek it’s mostly American teams who are interested. Bert’s vax status makes his ability to enter America if he lived/his teams base was in Canada questionable.., but as long as he lives in America it’s okay.

Kubalik at 50% retained is easily worth at least 2 2nds. Bertuzzi at 50% retained is worth a 2nd and 3rd and C level prospect.

Fine, From what's being reported, There is a zero chance of Bertuzzi playing Canada anyways. He's been linked to Dallas, Florida and Tampa and a couple of other teams at least 5 teams with serious inquiries on him. Yzerman has already stated that he's not going to give him away for nothing. Pretty sure we can get an okay offer from Dallas.
