It'd be nice move (although doubt FLA takes it), but Murray wont be on LTIR and you're close to or over the cap

if they want to play with fire, they could roll with Murray/Samsonov in net, Bennett in the lineup, and only 1 healthy scratch - not sure how I'd feel about that with this team, it's definitely a risky proposition, but it's doable.

That being said, I don't think Florida takes this deal - if Patric Hornqvist is on LTIR the rest of the way, they will have room to activate Anthony Duclair without having to dump any other contracts. Bennett is a solid, reasonably priced, two-way 2C - just the type of guy that a team with cap issues should hang on to, IMO. Getting a late 1st, a damaged good prospect in Robertson, and an okay prospect who's already committed to Michigan and probably 3ish years away (at best) isn't really the return I'd be looking for - I'd either want a young roster player who can make an immediate impact with that 1st, or a better package of futures. This is just kinda...meh.

Love how every Leaf fan trades a guy on season ending LTIR, No sane GM is touching Nick Robertson right now. Even when totally healthy he's not 1/16 the player his brother Jason is.
