The decision was made this offseason to win now. You aren't getting rid of a perennial 40 goal scorer with a great cap hit for this year and next while sitting in the 1WC

I get the win now mentality, but if they fall out in the next few weeks. And you essentially have the same roster coming back next year, does someone above Hextall speak up and demand change.

I mean sure, if they completely fall out of the playoffs they can obviously look to sell. But they have the 1WC spot right now with only 10 games before the trade deadline and one of the easier remaining schedules in the NHL.

That being said, I don't think anyone above Hextall is going to be giving any orders - it would have to be his or Burke's decision. Also, if they do decide to sell, I want to sell everyone.

No, cut this crap out. You signed the core to win. You do not sell to rebuild while any of those guys are here and still putting up elite numbers. Make changes to the bottom 6 so that the top 6 can a little offensive support and this team is fine.

If this happens Hextall gets fired in offseason

This type of big move happens in the off-season with many teams involved. We are in a win now mode but sadly we don't have the pieces to get it done. Hextall will be fired after the season right or wrong. Doesn't look like the coach is moving or the core so that is the next step
