I think he would get lot's of interest from teams. I kind of over payed it a little bit.

Yeah in all honesty, I think Garland really only gets a 2nd and maybe a prospect. Can't see him getting much with his recent play

Rather trade a first then a 2nd and a prospect. We don't have much good prospects.

is garland one of those "needs a change of scenery" type of trades? haven't been keeping track of vancouver but i liked him in arizona

He's in a bit of a weird spot. He was great last year, but he's struggled quite a lot this year (though that could be said for pretty much every Canuck not named Pettersson). The Canucks did bring in Tocchet as their new coach, and Garland played very well under him in Arizona. I think there's one of two scenarios for Garland. Either A, he plays very well and rebounds under Tocchet so the Canucks keep him, or B, he doesn't play well under Tocchet and the Canucks trade him in a change of scenery type deal for someone with a similar track record/contract who also needs a change of scenery.
