If we can't get a first or a 2023 second plus a good prospect for Adam Henrique with 50% retention, then we might as well just hang onto him for another season. After all, he leads our team in goal scoring and is our best and most reliable faceoff man, in addition to being a key penalty killer, and has another year left on his contract. Two B prospects, UFA Engvall and a future second is inadequate incentive for us to move him, and that's without even considering the 2023 fourth.

while you are right about him being your best goal scorer and best centerman and top pk guy doesnt make him that on any contending team, you are selling based on the value he adds to your team not the value he will add to another, he will be a Mid 6 guy who can play the pk. the ducks have one of the worst pk in the league so is he really that good at it? also he doesnt fit the ducks window.

No, I'm selling him to you because he'd be the fifth-best goal scorer and second-best defensive forward on your team, and that might be particularly important if it turns out you can't re-sign your fifth-best point-scoring forward (whom no one has accused of having great defensive skills) next season. And he's a mid-6 guy only if Keefe plays that fifth-best point-scoring forward on the first line at LW ahead of him.

Frankly, I hope you guys (or Colorado, the other most-likely suitor for Henrique) acquire him and give him a shot at a Stanley Cup or two. I wouldn't even mind if it was for a garbage offer like this, because I root for my ex-guys like Josh (who now HAS a Cup) and Hampus (who should be contending for one this summer).

You gotta hold out for Henrique to the Avs then to make it a Manson/Rico vs Lindholm SCF. Wouldn't be nearly as much fun if the Bruins steam roll the Leafs in the 2nd round (but hey they MADE the 2nd round in that case so that's progress).

Okay, cool story bro, we just hold onto him until next season when he is a rental and trade him then.

Frankly, that offer is utterly sh*t. Engvall doesn't hold any value to us, he is just cap out to keep you compliant. Thus you are asking for Henrique with 1.5 seasons of retention and our current 4th round pick for your 2nd next year, a C prospect who doesn't make our team because we have so much depth at center, and a RW prospect we have no room for in the top 6 for the next 4 seasons, if his ceiling is even that high. Hard pass.

Rico is still under contract, and we don't have an internal replacement for him at top 6 LW, and the crop of UFA LW is crap this year (Bunting is currently the top guy, who is an alright player, but a lot of his success comes from being a complementary player to the Matthews Marner line). It's a matter of making us an offer we can't refuse, not offering what you think market value is for him.
