Description
On, Panarin here me out lol

This could be a thing. The rangers need cap space and to get it, trading Pararin may be the best way to go. Obviously he would need to agree to this. But back in Chicago playing with Kane, with MAAAAAAYBE Bedard? How awesome would that be! Everyone is happy. A top 3 pick even would be great for them, and very possible

Remember. Drury didn’t give Panarin all this money, it was Gorton

Anyway..this is what I think would lead us to Meier at the deadline and the reason for both trades happening. Basically trading for Meier assures this all happening

Lay it on me!! I can take the abuse! 😉

Also. If Someone can help, is the cap 8350000? For 23-24. Are my prices right?

Last thing. I realize I have thrown Othmann right into the fire so the lines could be different obviously. I would try it right off the bat tho. Kid line needs to stay intact and not be traded under any cir

Unfortunate reality. Having those guys last year was huge and a big part of why the team made it to the conference finals. Now we gotta pray Shesty pulls a Tim Thomas and drags us to a cup win.

Hey whatever you say man. I’m gonna believe in them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Problem is the team is not as deep as it was last year. Losing Strome, Copp, Vatrano and Motte was huge. Our fwd depth is awful. The 5 on 5 scoring is nonexistent and an issue come playoff time. It’s not about being down on the team, the problem is the expensive contracts that have and will continue to cripple the ability to add quality depth players to complement the roster and fill it out for the playoffs. Just getting to the playoffs is pretty much worthless imo if that’s the objective. This team was most definitely better last year and I can’t see how anyone can deny that.

Worse roster than last year? Maybe. But your expectations are sky high, right now. You only lost Strome, the rest were rentals. But you neglect how much better guys like Chytil, Laf, and Kakko are playing this year. Are the Rangers playing a bit worse than last year, overall? Debatable. They are still in very good playoff position and have almost half of the season left to go. But, the point still remains, on paper, they are a good team and they are producing results that are favorable. You are thinking about "getting into the playoffs" all wrong. This is still a very good team and the playoffs are a completely different beast. It is a whole new game once you get in.

You gotta think big picture, but even in the small picture, the Rangers still have a good shot at a cup this year. In 2010, CHI faced a Flyers team for the stanley cup that was the last seed in the Eastern conference. Last year FLA tore apart the league in the regular season but couldn't even make it to the conference final and probably won't even make the playoffs this year. This league is too close to blow small details out of proportion.

Up until they went on a tear (ironically when Trouba threw his helmet), they were beyond uninspiring and mediocre. Shesty has returned to earth (still playing well, but last year was just another level). This team is beyond streaky. I just refuse to look at the team with blinders and pretend to say their good enough.

You’re entitled to your opinion, that’s okay. 20 years of watching this team has allowed me to look at the good and bad of this team. That’s not the opposite of a fan, that’s being critical in a constructive manner in wanting the team to improve.

Sure. I get it. But this season isn't everything. The Rangers have the pieces and more than a good chance at putting it all together within the next handful of years. I like Gallant but, again, I don't like him for this team. Same goes for trouba, at least in a leadership capacity. I think naming him captain was a mistake that has gone to his head and he depends on physicality too much. Especially since he has a good offensive game, when he is on, as well as a good defensive game. He doesn't need to be an old school goon type, he has the tools to be a very good modern defenseman, but he does it anyway.
