Yours is outdated. Maybe if Pettersson openly says he won't sign in Vancouver in the summer, then we can discuss trade rumors

Bro you're kidding me.

My point was that players who want to leave /still usually say they're willing to talk contract with their current team/. Can you not read where I literally say "JG left, Matt told them he wouldn't extend long term.". It's the first line of my response.

I also literally reiterated that he changed his mind when I said "May 28, 2022. He changed his mind just 2 months later". Like if we're gonna have a conversation, at least read what I'm writing to you.

YES HE IS. He literally told the team he was not going to sign a long term contract..... If you are going to use Gaudreau as the reason he left, then there is even less of a reason for Pettersson to leave because the Canucks signed Kuzmenko who has been excellent with him

And to this point, Dmitry talked about this on PDOcast as well. Why would Pettersson, who has played less than 1 full season with Kuzmenko and is only guaranteed to be under contract for 1 full season of Petey's extension, make his decision based on that? Thats a preposterous thing to think.

So 1 guy speculates that Pettersson may want out and all of a sudden that is the only possible answer?

So basically if a player says they want to stay, they still might want out, and if a player says they want out, they want out. By your logic, no player will ever stay with their current team. What else do you want him to say? If he truly didn't want to stay, why would he even consider beginning contract negotiations this summer? His contract doesn't end until NEXT summer....

No, I literally never said "that's the only possible answer". I just said that it may be prudent to think that he may want out, despite his agent saying that he loves the city and is willing to talk contract.

It's not "1 guy" speculating. Two reputable reporters have commented on this, Russo and Dmitry. Russo is the best beat reporter in the league and has stated he has some knowledge on the situation and Peteys state of mind. He would not say this openly were it not true and well-sourced. And because you love to beat the "Minnesota reporter hurr durr" drum, Dmitry is Vancouver-based and has backed that up. We've had this discussion as well. Please, read my responses if you want to have these conversations because it's exhausting having to type out everything multiple times.

Because it's pretty tough to turn down a 15 or 16 million dollar AAV contract, no? especially if you love the city. I'm sure 128 million dollars could change your mind on losing.

I'm also NOT SAYING THAT. I'm just saying that there's some smoke out there. Don't shut down the conversation outright based on boilerplate responses.

Where tf did you get 15-16 million dollar AAV from?

The point of the 15-16M is that, even if his preference is to leave the Canucks (due to the losing like his agent said), there is probably a number Vancouver can put out there to convince him to stay. I used a huge number to exaggerate the point and make it very obvious this was the point I was making.
