You certainly did Can't say I'm keen on spending the asset needed for Meier when keeping him would be improbable. SJ would probably want more, too, given the cap they'd be taking on for next year. Also, given we'd be going all-in, instead of bothering to include Eyssimont and playing him top-6 (gross), I'd sooner spend the extra pick and grab Bjugstad.

Overall, the Ekholm concept definitely seems plausible given some creativity!

Oops, I didn't mean to have Eyssimont in the top-6! But I really like the player so I'll keep him in the trade - he's a puck hound / forechecking demon.

So let me get this right. Nashville takes back a dump in ceci and takes a underwhelming young player that has a 3 million dollar cap hit AND we retain on ekholm and all we get back is a 1st from next years draft. This is terrible for Nashville.

Ceci is a dump for Nashville. We had no need for ceci. If you want Ekholm a 23 1st is a must and a good prospect and a dump to make the salary work

Eyssimont has 6 pts in 10 games with the Sharks and is absolute workhorse. I don't expect him to keep up that kind of production but he's actually a way more skilled player than I realized when we picked him up.

Sure, but that's on a team at the bottom of the standings, not one that would be pushing for a Cup. Therefore, I maintain that it would be gross.
