I was talking since the Cup win. I still do that trade 100 times out of 100. Winning the Stanley Cup is the whole point, so I'm fine with that trade and always will be. It will always have been worth it, even if the Sabres win 4 straight and Tage wins 4 Conn Smythe's.

I hate looking at the one I just made. It's a great looking roster: balance of studs and depth and skill. I think Parayko would be much better in his #2 role.

It's just been mis-step after mis-step after mis-step. Like I said in my little intro thing, this roster isn't even that crazy, it's just mainly keeping guys you already had!

For the life of me, I will never understand his reluctance to give a NMC but will give NTC to guys like Leddy, Krug, Saad, Faulk. I understand the other NTCs as they are core guys and have been around a while and won the cup but my god he should have given Petro his NMC and the statue outside Enterprise.

I think the Isles traded Toews like a week after Krug signed. The front office must have traded their brains for that cup.

And according to what I've heard/read Army didn't offer the partial NMC and partial signing bonus money until that 11th hour offer when Petro was already frustrated and wanted to see what the market would offer him.

I personally feel things are very different if you offer him the full NMC right out of the gate and whatever signing bonus money ownership would authorize you to make. It wouldn't have been nearly what Vegas offered him, it's true, but it would've been 1 of the 2 big things he wanted and at least some of the other. We'll never know, but I think it would've altered the course of events dramatically. But that's just me...
