They need to spend SOME money on goaltending. I believe in Søgaard long term, but there's no reason to believe that Ottawa will be comfortable running him as a full time backup as soon as next year. I like Forsberg, but bare minimum they need to bring in a reliable tandem option for next year. I think asset cost for a guy like Demko would be prohibitive, but if they could get him without breaking the bank he would EASILY be a better use of 5mil than Garland. Like it's not close.

Also I've said it before, but I still think Sens fans are being REALLY optimistic on Pinto's next deal. 2.5 still feels cheap. Maybe on a 1 year deal, but he's still a rookie pacing for 20 goals.

Jordan Kyrou got $2.8 million for a season where he was on pace for 52 points. Pinto is on track for 33 points this year, I think a two year deal at $2.5 million or less even is more than fair.
