Canucks can get a better return than that

Hawks should pass. Hirvonen is a tweener on whether he will ever become a NHL player let alone have any staying power. Domi at half retained lands a 2nd all day, would rather have that then this package.

-Nick Schmaltz has 87 points in 97 GP going back to the beginning of last season and is signed to a very reasonable deal - I don't think Arizona is moving him for a late 1st, a 2nd in 2024, a B-tier prospect, and offsetting cap in Kerfoot. I'd assume Arizona would want Matt Knies+ in any sort of deal for Schmaltz.

-Domi is raising his value every game right now. While I don't think this is a terrible offer for him, I think if he's close to 50 points by the deadline (not out of the realm of possibility) I think Chicago gets a 2nd+ with retention.

-I don't see the sense in Toronto trading Holl; and I don't get the idea of the Wild swapping a 2nd for Holl if they trade Dumba - I don't know what Dumba's return would be, but his cap his high enough that it will knock his value down. I just think it's more likely that the Wild either ride it out with Dumba, or promote from within for RD2.

-I think Vancouver passes; Schenn isn't a stud but they could probably push for a 2nd rounder for a solid veteran RHD with an $850K cap hit. Even if he tops out at a 3rd, though, I think all a team has to do is offer up a 2023 3rd to beat this. Kallgren I'd assume doesn't have a ton of value for the Canucks, or anyone else for that matter - dude's put up an .871 SV% in the AHL so far this year and is already 26, so I can't see a ton of development left in him.
