Exactly. But there will still be hundred+ posts til he’s actually traded from the same 10 people who just can’t handle reality. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Like we all want it to work. But it’s impossible. If it was one year later, it would work, with a larger jump in cap and the bonuses off the books. But JDB is also do for a contract then.

Yup, bang on. That's why I don't understand how so many people (even NHL writers) think Horvat to BOS makes "so much sense". It literally can't work.

Coyle has an 8 team no-trade list and 3 years remaining with a $5.25M cap hit.
You can't just say it doesn't matter which team when very few would want to take 3 seasons of that cap hit (especially in 23-24) when the rest of your line up hinges on that money.
I'd say the team you imagine moving to matters very much and OTT doesn't have the cap space next season to do this deal.

I’m aware of that. But for the purpose of the exercise to show that the Bruins can’t fit Bo Horvat, I don’t think it matters what team is used here, especially as we don’t know what his No Trade List has on it.

First and lysell. Done. Horvat isn’t re-shaping the deadline market.

an extremly late first most likely, and dont get me wrong lysell is great but the last thing the canucks need is a winger prospect. there will be a better package

Pastrnak should be the highest paid player in the league next year (though he won’t be). The NHL has the weird thing that no other sport has where they set benchmarks. For example “well, he shouldn’t get more than mcdavid.” Why not? McDavid signed his deal in like 2017 when the cap was $73M or whatever, and was off his ELC. That said, Boston has their culture. I know that they had agreed on a $10M AAV around thanksgiving, and were working on other elements of the contract, but things have changed since then. All of a sudden he has 37 goals (shoutout to everyone who took pastrnak over 39.5 goals for piles).

11x8 makes too much sense too me. I think that’s where they land.

Like what? Ones that re-shape the deadline market.

Hey guess what kind of teams are looking to move first round picks for rentals? Did you say good teams? Well done, that’s correct. Where do good teams draft? Bingo, late. All firsts moved for rentals are pretty late. Frankly, Lysell and a first might be significantly better than any offer they get - too bad they’re not going to get that offer.

Also, vancouver needs organizational help at every single position. Why wouldn’t they need a winger?

thre could be a million other package out there that better suit the canucks needs, the bruins just dont have the assets. teams have multiple 2nds or good RHD/C prospects will be of way more value to the canucks. canucks are not gonna trade Bo for a winger as the main piece coming back.

Hoglander,Podkolzin,Klimovich,Karlsson are like the canucks only good prospects and they are all wingers

Are we still calling hoglander a prospect? 22 and been given three seasons in the NHL, and it hasn’t worked. Podkolzin - same thing just one year behind. Klimovich….i mean, whatever. Who is Karlsson?

If the canucks are turning down offers because of those four players, every single member of the front office should be fired today.

if the canucks traded their most valuable asset for a winger they should all be fired today. those 4 plus Miller, Kuzmenko, Mikheyev, Boeser and Garland a winger is the last thing they need. There will be a package that fits the canucks needs better which is defence and centres

They’re trying to trade all of those guys (except kuzmenko). Canucks need help everywhere, they shouldn’t be placing an emphasis on one position over another. It’s not like they’ll be competitive in the next two years.

        Their needs are everything.

There was rumors that vancouver liked carlo - duh - all teams would. There were no rumors he was ever in discussions.
