the retention is for 3 years which would be what the 1st and hirvonen is for. the 2nd and 3rd is for domi. and ovchinkov is for the cap dump

Nylander was that. He's been the most consistent player this season (and 2nd half of last season).

Nylander is also WAY more talented.

Only problem with that, is that Ovichnikov looked average at best in NA and hes gone back to Russia, he has ZERO value. I think you have to offer something CHI wants to take on the cap dump.

And with only 3 retention spots and the fact that CHI just signed him as a UFA and gave him a NTC works against CHI in more ways than one, so a late round first TWO drafts away and Hirvonen is still probably not an overpayment.
