Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

This is just an exercise to show what the roster looks like if Canes trade for Meier & extend at 8x8.5. They have plenty of room in 23-24. The following year gets a little tighter but with another 5-6M cap increase, plus a couple of smaller guys falling off the cap they should have the extra 2-2.5 for Aho, 4-4.5 for Necas, 3-3.5 for Pesce, and 3-4m for Jarvis (for a bridge). If Skjei keeps it up maybe he gets a slight raise but I doubt they'll pay much more than what he's making now. Same for Turbo, can't see him getting more than he's making now. If either of those guys walks, you have some extra cash to play with and the timing of some of the young guys would keep the flexible path.

For arguments sake, this is best offer Canes would probably do. Could add on the fringes or replace Drury if they'd rather have somebody more NHL ready but def a lower ceiling. Jarvis won't be moved.

Yeah that’s fair. This is more so to see what cap looks like if they got a deal done. Maybe I’m wrong and canes would be willing to move Jarvis but I really don’t think they would and I’d be upset if they did

If they got Morrow instead of Jarvis that would be fine, Jarvis doesn’t really fit their immediate needs and is another small winger which the sharks have a to of already

I figured Morrow over Drury. I’m not familiar with their needs though so figured I’d give the most ready prospect too.

C and RD or even LD. They have a ton of small wingers so don’t really need any of them. Morrow just has a much higher ceiling than Drury and Drury is almost 23, Morrow just recently turned 20. Drury wouldn’t be a bad add but I don’t think he has a ton of worth in a trade.

If Aho cannot push past his ppg level of play I don't think he gets much more than he is making now. In fact, I think the mgmt gives him full term on his next contract and the cap hit will be reasonable.

Morrow is the one prospect whom I don't think the Canes will ever trade. He and Nik are the only top D prospects we have and Nik's future status is unknown, so I think they are both off the table for any trade the Canes may make. There are plenty of other prospects in the pool, and even a solid known NHL quantity to offer for whatever big fish they go after. So I don't get offended over the Morrow trades, I just make the point that I don't think he is tradeable and this is why.

Yeah I totally get that and don’t necessarily disagree. I do think that morrow is overvalued by a lot of fans in this forum though. I think the deal has to make a lot of sense to put him in a trade bc of the reasons you laid out but I wouldn’t be overly surprised if they moved him.
