Except that there are lots of stats that isolate the players results from their team. And again, if the hawks have so many players that are worth so much at the deadline, then why are they so bad?

holl isnt good enough for the playoffs and timmins is a solid 7D on a championship team, likely will see him be a regular next year. making a move for mccabe doesnt mean they wont add a 2nd line LW, which i addressed in this thread as well. Knies also coming bolsters the depth everywhere , at LW, on D and everyone in the bottom 6 shifts around

Holl has been good to great in the playoffs, the leafs have not lost a playoff series because of defense since the first bruins series. The leafs currently have three guys who can play on the top 2 spotson the right depending on the partner and situation and a guy who can fill in 3rd pairing minutes easily.
Depth scoring has been the leafs major issue for several years in a row, that is what they need by far and expecting a guy right out of college to step in and provide that is a long bet.
They need a 2LW about 1000x more than they need a defender, and a 3rd liner who can play C when needed the 2nd most. They dont need defence at all

theyre gonna do both, why not bolster the blueline and add a 2LW, which will push jarnkrok down, and likely add knies who is more than NHL ready
