I'd go the other way around - I think Boldy getting 7x$7M means that Caufield can easily push for $8M+. Boldy's at 27-41-68 through 89 games in his career - so he scores about 0.3 goals per game and 0.76 ppg. Caufield is at 53-31-84 through 121 GP - so he scores 0.44 goals per game and 0.69 ppg. They're the same age, so personally I'm thinking the guy who's a better pure goal scorer, with a longer track record, is going to be able to ask for more than a $500K raise on Boldy's deal.
