No way the Canucks do that trade. Draft capital and salary retention for a high upside player with a huge question mark. Nah.
It's Ken Holland, so the first and 4th coming back for Maata, and Ned I guess, seems about right. I don't get Ned; first half of last season he was lights out. I think he still has potential like a Tim Thomas late bloomer.
Suter for a 2nd all depends on how crazy the trade deadline gets; reliable depth centers can go for a premium or fair value. My guess the best for Suter will be a 3rd and 5th.
Sundqvist won't get that haul. A 3rd seems about right. He only gets traded if an extension can't be reached as he has more value to Detroit than a 3rd would.
Bertuzzi trade is lopsided or fair. If he starts playing well, the ask might be a bit more. If he just plays ok, Toronto is paying too much. I get the feeling he falls between ok and good, but an extension is had at Copp money and term.
Turcotte for Zadina? LA jumps at that. A for sure NHLer for a draft bust...Detroit keeps Zadina on the chance he reaches half his potential.
Luff to Washington..? I guess. Inconsequential.
Kubalik is an overpay. Colorado is an early 20s pick unless they make the ECF. That's a lot for a streaky scorer. The extra year at 3 million could sweeten or sour the pot depending on if Colorado thinks Kubalik will be better with better players around him.
All in all, most of these are pretty favorable for Detroit, and most teams pass or offer less. Trade deadlines can be crazy, but there are a lot of sellers in the west, so prices may get driven down.
