Minnesota isn't trading Marcus foligno. If I didn't know better, it's one person posted the same! MIN will not trade their heart and soul leader! 2nd round pick doesn't come close

The Sabres should probably try to trade for some RHD instead of having two defencemen constantly on the wrong side.

You're trading a guy that is on a 33 goal pace for a 2nd round pick????

Olofsson is tied for 47th in the league in goals.

He has as many goals as Marner, JT Miller, Suzuki...
And more than Kucherov, Eichel, Tkachuk and about 800 other NHL players.

2nd round picks have a pretty small chance of even making the NHL.

Well he does disappear for long stretches, if it wasn't for the first 10gms of the season he wouldn't be close to that. I would take the 2nd and maybe change the 4th to a D prospect

Serious question, I'm curious, when does the handedness of a defenseman really come into play, in your opinion?

In mine, it's harder to take pucks off the boards in the offensive zone and make breakout passes coming around the net on your backhand. Those things don't matter *as much* to guys as skilled as Dahlin and Power.

But anyways, as I said in the description, that nobody read, this was just for fun. McCabe and Foligno were two of my favorite people so I brought them back

Yeah biggest loss of Vic is hurting the 2nd PP unit. D prospect would be fine too

Yeah hed be excellent on a team that can cover for him 5v5. This team can't. Also, I'm not making this trade unless I'm adding a forward.

Off the top of my head 5 guys on this post's roster were drafted in the 2nd round or later, I'd rather get a 1st but I'd accept this value for him.

Pointless the line stagnates with Mittlestadt, no matter who he's with. Olofsson is more important and more valuable

First 10 games get dropped from the season now? Or they still have the same value as any other game?

7 points in the last 15, 10 in 20 over the last 2 months. 30 goals 40 -50 points from a 3rd liners who has no linemates, but everyone wants to cry about him instead of giving him someone to work with

Not crying about Vic. He has a ton of value and idk if Mittelstadt does on the trade market (he should) . When Mitts is playing well he carries his line, he just hasn't been able to put it together for long stretches.

Mitts has also been playing his entire career with no one to work with. In 1-2 years if he's still just a solid 2nd unit PP guy and infuriatingly inconsistent 5v5 the choice to open up a spot for Savoie is pretty damn easy.

Mitts has not carried a line in the NHL yet. Hes really really bad. The pace hits a brick wall everytime he touches the puck. The choice is very easy, Mitts needs to go. Especially as this is not a throw away year and they're in a good spot to make the wild card race at least interesting.

But 6gms in a row with nothing, before his 2 goals the other night he had 4 in 26gms. He scores in bunches and then disappears for long stretches. I hope he does hit his projected goal total, just makes the team better. But you could also say with him he goes into another funk for 2 months and barely hits 20. I would not trade him for this, but if it helped the team I would gladly include Olofsson in a trade.

Olofsson also averages 13:50 a night with terrible line mayes. Unless it's a top 4 Dman, trading him is a negative, not many top 4 dmen are going to be available for a 28 year old winger. I'd rather have a streaky Olofsson than the Bryson and Mittlestadt pylons. Dump Mittlestadt for a 2nd and give Olofsson someone to work with. Olofsson and Krebs have worked well together but rarely get any time

Mittlestadt just missed the net from the top of the crease....

I'm not rushing to get rid of him. As said in the description this was just for fun, so i didnt put too much thought into the trade values. If they went out and got Foligno (or comparable gritty bottom 6 guy) - I'd be close to happy with this value for Olofsson since they'd have to move a body out.

Olofsson was a trash 5v5 player with a top 10 center in the league and a top 30 winger... you make this point about bad linemates but ignore its the same situation for Mittlestadt.

And this post has them getting a top 4 dman and Olofsson more than recouped the value lol
