I don’t think this is too much for Edmundson, especially if the Jets think they have a chance to go far in the playoffs they’d definitely do something like this. The Canadiens got a 1st for Chiarot last year and Edmundson is better than Chiarot so just makes sense. The Canadiens will look for a deal similar to the Chiarot one.

Edmundson might be better than Chiarot now but that certainly wasn't the perception at the time Chiarot was traded. At that time Chiarot was pretty much the top defenseman available, the guy everyone wanted, that isn't the case for Edmundson now.

I'm not so sure on this one, just from watching a few Jets games this season, I hear the Jets like Barron quite a bit. The 2023 1st for Edmundson isn't bad, and maybe they need to add something, but something that isn't quite Barron, maybe someone needing a bit more seasoning that won't take away from the Jets roster this year..

Far too much for Edmundson in general and Winnipeg in particular. The Jets have no need for any defensemen, especially LD and would not want to be stuck with him next season.

I'd also like to believe Edmundson wouldn't waive for Winnipeg.
