I agree with the comparable, the biggest difference is the position of the pick. CGY makes this trade as a playoff team, not as a team that misses, unless its at the draft. It would probably have to be a top 10 pick for the Sharks to do it, but not top 6 or the flames wouldn't.

It will take Coronato to get Timo. Flames don't have a lot to offer and SJ doesn't have to trade him. Timo is happy to sign long-term in SJ so Grier holds all the cards in a timo trade.

Canucks would do this we just would have to wait until the Horvat trade or TDL although I'm pretty we haven't been accruing cap space because our ltir is being used

I think Calgary would have enough cap space at the deadline to add Meier without moving Lucic.

Anaheim will take the Lucic deal for just the 2nd

Trouble with the Meier trade you don't have the cap even to make a QO next July. Huberneau and Weager have their big raises and Vladar. Heck you don't have the cap for those players.
