That is a fair trade with AZ but it does not look like the Yotes want to part ways with Fischer. He is a glue guy and has shown across the board improvements in his game and expected bottom 6 role.

I think Boyd is very much on the table. He has some interesting value as he can play up and down the lines as a center. Probably cost the devils 3rd instead of the Ducks 4th.

Ruhwedl isn’t the add for Detroit. Oesterle and Lindstrom are fighting for 6-7 and that’s fine for now. SY can just find more depth D in free agency similar to this year (Chiarot, Maata, Pysyk, Hagg).

Sunny can be brought back or traded for something Detroit would want, including one of the following: 2023 draft pick / prospect / young roster player / etc.

Detroit already has decisions to make when all the D is healthy. Chairot, Seider, Maata, Hronek, Walman. The last spot is Oesterle and Lindstrom fighting it out. That leaves Haag and Psysk going down to the minors. There is no reason to add another guy like Rudwheel for the waiver wire.

Sorry I should have clarified. Gus and Oesterle in a battle for the 6 spot, or rotating in that last spot was intended to mean for this season. I meant that if SY thinks he needs another defenseman, he can look this summer in FA in a similar fashion as last offseason. Personally, I don't see that happening due to Edvinsson and Johansson. The following summer Wallinder and Buium join the conversation.

I'm not a fan of aquiring Ghost personally. I'm not opposed to getting an upgrade over Dumoulin if the price is right, but I'd want a shutdown guy rather than an offensive presence. The only teams that allow fewer shots per game than the Penguins are Anaheim, Columbus, and Arizona. We need a someone who can help fix that. Pens fans have been complaining recently of a lack of a guy willing to and capable of clearing the front of our net. Ghost is a great defenseman, but that isn't the type of roll he plays.
The Arizona defenseman I'd be most interested in is Valimaki, but I don't know what it would take to get him, or if he's even available.
