Schmaltz is someone I have looked at as well. Be a great addition.

The cap hit long term for me is the biggest issue. Leafs are already top heavy, and Schmaltz complicates that.

AZ retained OEL long term for the canucks… maybe they’d do something similar here.

He has 4 playoff games in his career. He is in no way a difference maker, if he was, his team would actually perform

You'd have to pay a premium for him because Arizona has no reason to move him. They wouldn't want to retain but for the right price, I'm sure that they would. I'd argue that you could get a player of a similar caliber without the injury history cheaper with a lower caphit elsewhere

Tough argument when you arrive playing in Arizona. Using that train of thought, Keller isn't a difference maker either.

Playing LW with JT and Nylander would be the best linemates he has had in years.

Health is more an issue than his ability to perform.

I would prefer someone who can add offence without taking away from our top 3 defensive play.

I can get behind that.
