Canucks would want Sandin or Niemala in a Horvat package. Everyone else (Robertson, Kerfoot, Hirvonen, Villenevue, Steeves) have little to no value to us. These trades even for a rental are steep and I think Canucks would look for something like:

To TOR:
Bo Horvat (50% retained)
2023 4th round draft pick or roster player

To VAN:
Rasmus Sandin
2023 1st round pick
2024 conditional pick (If Leafs make the second round)

Honestly I could see a hockey trade go down:

William Nylander

wow, that hawks trade is exceptionally terrible for toronto. There isnt enough coming to toronto to get samsonov alone let alone Sandin and more. Just horrific, potential top 10 worst trades of all time bad.
The Coyotes trade is also bad, Bjugstad stinks and Ghostbear is the last thing the leafs need.

no, it's not closer at all, you just tipped the value upside down. The canucks arnt getting a 22 year old cost controlled and improving 2nd pair defender, a 1st in 23 and more for a pending ufa on a shooting percentage bender let alone getting Nylander for him.

Sandin and a first for Horvat is steep but I think it's the right move, Nylander I would consider for Peterson but I wouldn't move him for anything else. Nylander is about twice as good as boeser at just about the same price, I know he won't be moved, basically Marner, Nylander and Matthews are lifers in Toronto.

Those really are preposterous trade proposals, even by canuckle standards. Canucks mgmt can talk about getting a young d (nhl ready) but it ain’t going to happen for a rental. Only a team that could extend him but most of those teams can wait for FA, most (if not all) contending teams don’t have cap space to extend Bo.

Just as any combination of Kerfoot, Robertson, Niemala, Voit or Hirvonen and a first aren’t remotely close to Horvat’s value. It’s the equivalent of a late first round pick and two fifth round picks for Horvat. Leafs ACGM’s need to stop including them in trades because they have no value.

Horvat is a #2 centreman and a rental, I'm not sure what his ask is suppose to be and I'm including first round picks with established NHLers or top prospects, maybe sandin would be more reasonable. Somebody mentioned he would need Nylander for Horvat, that was completely laughable, horvat isn't better than Tavares or Matthews, he's more like Boone Jenner very good nhler so I'm not sure what he would get but I could see him going to New York or new jersey as well so should be fun to watch.
