No major issues; like the plan other than Domi - major overpay ($ & term) imo.
I think Kampf gets more but that could be off set b/c I think:
1/ Timmins gets less (he should not get more than $1M if even, given his injury record alone).
2/ also wonder if we could knock Bunting down by $0.25-0.50M if we add a 6th year (which I would do); Nick Paul just signed for 7 years, same age.

I like Steeves next year 👍.
And can we get samsonov for 3 year term?
Maybe use Domi money to sign a vet dman (Benn ain’t him next year and tough to count on 40 year old Gio all year) and a youngish FA winger to a “show me” contract - Bunting 2.0

Not leaving enough money for Nylander and Matthew's raises the following year.

Not necessarily, I guess other guys coming down like Brodie, but I would deal with those first, see whats leftover.

I'm essentially assuming Nylander goes. Ideally Tavares expired first because he'll be taking a pay cut, with Nylander needing a raise.

But given where first liners are being paid I think Nylander will want/need 9-10.5 mil (just a guess on the cap). Just can't see it happening.

Re Timmins, we'll see where we are end of the year. But the difference is pretty small.

Re Kampf if he wants much more Id pass. He is a 4c not a 3c. Overpaying for 4th liners is a good way to nuke someone's cap

Re Domi I find it kind of funny that signing him for a few hundred k less than bunting and 1 year less is an over pay.

Dude has hit 28 goals and 70 pts. And has a career average over 82 of 51 points over 82 GP

He's scoring quite similar but more goals than bunting this year (11 g and 23 pts in 32 gp for Domi and 9 g and 24 pts in 34 games for Bunting). Bunting definitely plays with better line mates.

Domi can also play c and w which is an advantage.

Now to be absolutely care I am NOT suggesting Domi is a stud or something. I've signed him above for 3.65 million which is maybe the going wait for a decent middle 6 winger. It's a couple steps below guys like copp got, and a good step below someone like Mikheyev got this summer...

Agree to disagree; I think Kampf is a really good 3/4C and excellent defensively which is important to Leafs - great matchup and pk guy. Holmberg also looks promising in similar role.
Sorry but Domi is not at bunting’s level, half of his points are on the PP this year & Leafs PP1 is set; only 2 of bunting’s are. Bunting plays with great players because he is exactly what Matthew’s or JT’s line needs - smart, tenacious / good forecheck, good hands, goes to the net. Domi is not really good at any of these things - he is more of a playmaker which we don’t need.
To each his own but I just don’t see Domi as a good fit , I think there is a reason he has bounced around - he’s a bit one dimensional and has obvious flaws

If that's what you think Nylander will make, l wonder what raise Matthews is looking for. I guessing around 14.5 million. Try to make a team for 24-25 with them getting that pay raise and the cap at 86.5 million.

My hope is 14ish. My fear is 15+.

He clearly has no issue asking for what he feels he's worth. And being one of the top 2-3 players in the league it's hard to put a value on "worth".
