Quoting: RipNasty
This is the type of move Buffalo makes the moment they see any upward trend and these big signings immediately cause huge problems. Kane is clearly starting to decline. Points are down, he never has played any defence in his career but outscored his faults by a huge margin. He can't anymore and Toews is also declining. Have 20 million dollars in cap on 3 players (skinner being the other) for several years when they will never match what they once could do will result in the same issues that have happened in buffalo for the past decade. Two steps forward and 10 back. Just be patient. Buffalo doesn't need to be a playoff team for another year or two. It's coming but be patient.
I greatly appreciate getting this sort of feed back from none Sabre fans.
I completely agree that the Sabres need to be patient.
With four picks in the first two rounds next year, they could still add more depth to their prospect pool.
It would be foolish to be buyers at this years TDL, if anything, they may be sellers or just spectators.
I guess one has to very carefully read between the lines of my post, but Kane is the only player I wanted to sign.
He probably would not accept only two years, but that is all the Sabres could offer him as Power, Quinn and Peterka will all need raises in two year.
Upon further review, let's completely agree and not sign Patrick.
Next year Anderson, Girgensons, Okposo and Hinostroza may all be replaced by Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Kulich, Rosen and Savoie.
Then the following year Olofsson, Mittelstadt, Comrie and Lyubushkin by Kisakov, Poltapov, Levi and Johnson.
Thank you for helping me get my head on straight!
BTW, I really hope the Leafs can finally win a playoff series, they are too good and have run into bad luck in the previous seasons.
