Description
Get him for 3 playoff runs. Either pair with Morrissey to make one of the better pairs in the league or split them up for a 1-2 punch. Like how Dallas always had either Hieskanen or Klingberg on the ice at all times except better(?) Best top 6 D in the league? Only one way to find out!

It's hard to believe that there is any merit to this rumour. It just doesn't seem that there is a workable deal there to give Arizona what they want and still be a fair price for Winnipeg for an LD to play behind Morrissey on the 2nd pair.

That's a lot to pay to add another player to the team's deepest position.

Setting aside the trade, I think there’s a couple issues here:
Chychrun is a LD.
Three playoff runs? I think there’s a very good chance Winnipeg loses one or both of their top two centers over the next two years (including this one), so I think this might be a two year run.

Best top six in the league? Not close. Certainly Tampa, Colorado, and Boston are head and shoulders above. New Jersey might be in the conversation too, and if hughes is all he’s cracked up to be, they definitely will be.

Tell me you don't watch Chychrun play without telling me you don't watch Chychrun play.

Since coming back he's been paired with Ghost and scoring bombs from the right side.

Add a '23 1st, 3rd and Holm and you still win that trade

Oh god, that tired old phrase. “I have nothing clever so here’s something i saw on the internet.”

He is so bad in two of the three zones when he’s on the right side. Absolutely brutal. Honestly if he’s playing there I think it might be the franchises plan to try to tank. Stick the best d man on his off-side where he can’t defend or control anything in the neutral zone. But he’s scoring bombs! Yay. Two whole even strength goals. And you know what’s great? Because there’s only two it’s pretty easy to go watch them. He was on the left side bud, his natural position.

He plays the right side on the powerplay for one-timers. This is relatively commonplace in the national hockey league.

So, what were you saying again?

Best top 6 D in the league is what this thread creator said, they're wrong about that but they weren't referring to the Jets top 6 forwards.

Not a problem. I don't think many Jet fans have any interest and was exactly what I said in my first post.

Its not a rumor, an article by some guy from The Hockey News suggests the Jets should be in on Chycrun.

Ah, I know I saw it briefly yesterday, but couldn't remember what it was.

LOL nice sample size... you watched 3 whole goals... except his shot map is heavier on the right side, 5v5 and PP

So he can't defend so much that he's a plus player relative to his team with his most productive seasons paired with 2 other lefties where if you watch them play 5v5 they rotate and switch sides all the time... 5v5 and PP.

Neutral zone is moot for defensemen, but he joins on the rush from the right side [bench side] more than the left

And he makes great passes from dzone up ice from both sides of the net.... hence the positive possession numbers

Neutral zone being moot for a defensemen might be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Ever heard of gap control?

Is that a serious statement and a serious question?
