I get that this is a very depreciated return for Boeser given where he may have been valued just a few months ago, but I really don't think it makes sense to do this for the Devils.
Moving Daws out makes the Devils goalie pipeline very thin, Johnsson's cap doesn't hurt them whatsoever and he does add value in terms of forward depth for the forward corps going into the playoffs.
Given how hilariously bad Boeser is playing right now I'm not convinced he'd (1) make the Devils lineup in any capacity and especially so when Palat and Bastian returns from injury, and (2) I'm not even sure he'd be an upgrade over Johnsson to begin with.
And even then, the Devils would be on hook for another 2 x 6.65m of cap for what's one of the league's worst performing wingers.
I can't help to think there'd be a multitude of ways to allocate that cap more efficiently than using it on Boeser for the Devils.
