Barrie's points totals look appealing, but understanding his deployment and TOI, he is a one trick pony that scores off O zone faceoffs and is otherwise a liability on the ice. Foegele is a nice defensive winger, but is overpayed, and Van is overstocked at wing.

Meanwhile you get one of the premier center rentals avaliable this season, and by far the youngest and hottest this season, a criminally underrated showdown D, and you get out from under two contracts with term, for a 2nd.

You're going to need to rethink that deal.

You're getting a chance at a 1st rounder much like the Jets in the Copp trade that turned into a 1st.
Oilers would rather do the 2nd rounder for Schenn trade instead of adding cap.

Suddenly because Boeser days are numbered he is also worth something..? Thats not how trading works if you have something nobody wants, that commodity isnt suddenly valuable. You cant make this stuff up. He has 4 goals and makes elite sniper money.
