Heiskanen is so nasty it doesn’t really matter but I would say that RHD would be the 2nd area for them to address this deadline as well.

There’s no reason they can’t re-sign Bo after the trade

If dal can resign Horvat they would be a dangerous team

In this ACGM, Dallas has $16M to fill 9 roster spots. Horvat takes up AT LEAST $8.5M of that. They don't have the cap flexibility to re-sign him without having to ice half a team of AHL players. Way too much of a risk to warrant losing Johnston or Stankoven

With the cap not increasing as much as originally anticipated, the Stars need guys on ELC's that can produce for this team in the meantime. This is why they really can't move Johnston, Stankoven, or even Bourque. They're too vital to whether or not this team will be able to remain competitive for the next couple of seasons. As much as I'd love Horvat in Dallas, they can't afford him at the price tag he's going to want, and those 3 prospects/young players are too valuable to lose for a rental.

Horvat + wouldn’t get the Canucks Wyatt Johnston . One of the best rookies in the league this season at age 19. Could be a 1C as soon as next season

Neither Stankoven and certainly not Johnston are being traded for a rental, even with an extension.

Price is a huge problem here, and both will bring huge upside to this franchise. I don’t see a reason to do this.
