The missing link is goaltending. The defence can for sure play well I think and the forward core got so much going. It’s just the goaltending that doesn’t sit too well with me. Comrie at best is a good backup and Anderson is just old

Luukkonen is a goalie I’m still a fan of even if he doesn’t have the greatest of stats right now.

As pointed out by Lundqvist too, the Sabres defense is really bad. they need to upgrade Bryson if they want to reward this group

Potential is still pretty high with the defence. Everyone’s still young. I think playoffs this year could still work honestly. They have the players to move to make the improvements needed so that some players aren’t rushed in to higher roles.

Flyers pass. nothing there really incentivises the Flyers to trade also he is the closest thing we have to a Franchise goalie. Hes been playing to his potential this year.

Olofsson is terrible, I understand that Mitts is too, but VO looks really bad.

Olofsson shows up every 8gms scores and scores a couple and disappears for another 8 to 10gms. Mitts is lost. They both should have seen the press box by now.

Olofsson is a sniper who is playing with someone who is completely lost and a bunch of 4th liner cast offs, I wonder why he's so streaky...

He's always been streaky, and he's played with 2 players he has had success with before in Mitts and Asplund.

he hasnt been streaky, last year he was playing with a broken wrist. Also again he had success with Mittlestadt, the center, who has fallen off a cliff. Weird that his stats dropped too when his center has disappeared, yet his advanced numbers are significantly better than Mittlestadt's. If only we could piece together why his quality shots are down this year while playing with a Center who is "lost", hmmmm

He has played 36 5 v 5 minutes (14.4% of his 5v5 minutes) this year without Mittlestadt and in those 36 minutes he scored 3 goals and his line allowed 1 goal against, +2, 26 shots for to 22 against and a 55% corsi for. At that pace he would have about 20 goals right now, 5v5

Oh so he has nothing to do with Mitts playing bad, it goes hand in hand. And yes he is streaky. Even going back to 20-21 he did the same thing, score a few and disappear for 6-8-10gms. I would like to see him with different linemates, but he has been just as bad as Mitts the last month.

20-21 when the team fell apart and had a 18 game losing streak and he still had 32 in 56 games. His advanced numbers are still significantly better, so he has not been just as bad, and yes he has nothing to do with Mitts bad play

OK, not gonna argue over someone who is not in the future of this team. Olofsson has been bad, Mitts has been bad. Sabres have prospects that will be better than Olofsson. At this point he is a place holder.

I agree with everything except that Olofsson has been bad, and would bet money that he would improve with Mittlestadt benched, but we will never see that for some reason.
