My personal ranking of all of the films made by the greatest filmmakers of all time, Joel and Ethan Coen. (Also included Joel's solo project The Tragedy of Macbeth because it has all the elements of a Coen Brothers piece, just sans Ethan)

1. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
2. No Country For Old Men
3. The Big Lebowski
4. Fargo
5. The Man Who Wasn't There
6. Burn After Reading
7. A Serious Man
8. Inside Llewyn Davis
9. Miller's Crossing
10. True Grit
11. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
12. Blood Simple
13. The Tragedy of Macbeth
14. The Hudsucker Proxy
15. The Ladykillers
16. Raising Arizona
17. Hail, Caesar!
18. Intolerable Cruelty
19. Barton Fink

It's tough to rank great films. I don't disagree with any of your choices. I have a couple of favorite Coen Brothers films.

No Country for Old Men and Fargo are virtually flawless.

When I was a teenager in NYC I would go see Dave Van Ronk perform in Greenwich Village clubs; my feeling is that he is one of the early folk figures that inspired Inside Llewellyn Davis.

I'd put Raising Arizona (which made Holly Hunter, of all people, a comedic star, of all things, if only for a short while) and Hail, Caesar! a little higher on the list. I loved them both.

Thanks for this thread.

It's still a great movie, but I just enjoyed it less than a lot of their others. I have only seen it once and it's been quite a while, so perhaps a rewatch will improve its position.
