Robertson can't even make the Leafs he isn't going to fetch a decent 2nd pairing RD in a trade.

No he can't make the Leafs. After 4 years of trying playing a total of 26 games with 7 points he's a healthy scratch with Denis Malgin having passed him on the depth chart.

Robertson needs to play in a top 6 role to be properly effective. Malgin plays on the 4th line. There's a huge difference there. I haven't seen Pelletier or Zary even getting a sniff on the CAL roster (and all 3 are 21)

But both would make the Leafs ahead of Robertson. That's the difference between a team with good depth and a team with poor depth. One can take their time developing good prospects the other rushes lesser prospects to the NHL where they fail.

Heck Matthew Phillips would make the Leafs ahead of Roberston.
