I actually do know who he is bud. He hasn't played an NHL game yet and has 1 win in 6 starts in AHL this year with a plus 3.00 GAA and below .900 save percentage. Not saying he wont be good but goalies are never a shoe in to be great immediately. Look at Carter Hart and Spencer Knight who both came out hot and have struggled the last year or so. Portillo gives Minny even more depth and pretty much guarantees you have 1 great goalie even a possible 1A/1B like Boston. Fleury is washed. Save your smug comments to yourself next time
Thanks, you just discredited yourself completely by calling Fleury washed.
As Fleury has a .920 save percentage minus the first 3 games of the year,
bud. Where the entire
TEAM allowed 20 goals in those first 3 games, as the defense was equally as responsible for how bad the stats are and were.
Anyone who has payed attention to Fleury this year knows his stats are misleading and skewed because of those first 3 games, but has otherwise been lights out for Minnesota this year until being sidelined with an upper body injury last week.
Furthermore, no we
don't need Portillo. Because, A) Wallstedt has franchise potential, and B) Gustavsson, who's only 24, has shown flashes of and has been decent in games can be a quality 1b/backup in this league provided he gets the necessary gametime and experience.
Again, goaltending is the least of Minnesota's issues right now.
