Boeser is not of interest for the isles and Palmeri has a NTC so he won’t be moved. The isles are most likely looking at Horvat to play a LW for Barzal and take faceoffs since he is terrible on them.

Horvat at LW probably won't fly. As for Palmiere, he has a 16 team NTC. Basically a 50/50 chance that the Canucks are on there

I would have confidence in him or Nelson playing LW with Barzal and Wahlstrom. They need a LW there as Bailey, Beau, and now Parise is not working on the top line. Plus they need someone who can take faceoffs.

Horvat has played C for his entire career. There will be teams who acquire Horvat to play C

Was looking at the trade as a deadline move, this would be even worse in the offseason for the isles. Bailey has a friendly buyout so they are not paying to move him they will just buy him out, and still don’t see Palmeri being moved as he has been good.

Faceoffs do not matter when Barzal is on the ice. He regains possession anyways and he’s more dangerous when the other team wins the faceoff.

Faceoffs are important, this is why Pageau has to be on PP1 instead of Wahlstrom.

I’m sure what ever team he goes to (if he is moved) he would be the type of player who plays wherever he is asked too.

Faceoffs are not important at even strength , we’re not talking about the PP. And Pageau for the most part is a blackhole offensively on the PP. Whatever good he does winning faceoffs he usually negates it by giving up possession when he gets the puck

By what measure has Demko ever been "ELITE"? Nobody is giving so much for an above average goalie, let alone one playing so poorly.

Lol, he has been a top 10 goalie in the league the past 2 years with basically a bottom 5 defense core. Nice to see some internet trolling

Yea because losing a faceoff and giving up a goal immediately did not mean anything. Faceoffs are a critical part of the game, and lead to possession, every offensive faceoff by Barzal tonight was lost and lead to a clear.

It is extremely difficult to change positions mid season. It’s not Lous style to trade for a player and ask him to play a different position, he also wouldn’t make Nelson switch either

Are faceoffs important? Yes. Do faceoffs matter in the big picture? No. The Avs were one of the worst faceoff teams and won the cup. Faceoffs are just one aspect of the game

Trolling? More like poor reading comprehension. I was responding specifically to this from the trade description, emphasis his:

"Probably done during the draft assuming Demko bounces back to his normal ELITE form"

I never said Demko wasn't top 10. I asked when he was ever "ELITE".

Faceoffs mean more to some teams than others. They do matter in the big picture, just not equally for everyone.

A majority of faceoffs do not lead to goals. The Avs were the 3rd worst Faceoff team in the league last season and were by far the worst in playoffs - and it didn’t matter.

That is an incorrect statement. There were 2 faceoffs Barzal lost tonight where he forced the D into a turnover, Wahlstrom or Parise recovered any they maintained possession

When the Isles have the forward core of the 2021 Colorado Avalanche faceoffs will become less important.

Of the last 8 NHL teams to lead the league in faceoff %, 5 of them missed the playoffs. If they meant that much, they wouldn’t have missed the playoffs

Horvat is definitely a Lou type guy, more so than Boeser and Garland. I would take any of the prospects right now in Isahakov, Holmstrom or Durandeau to as they need someone to play with Barzal and Wahlstrom.

Horvat is definitely a Lou type guy, more so than Boeser and Garland. I would take any of the prospects right now in Isahakov, Holmstrom or Durandeau to as they need someone to play with Barzal and Wahlstrom.

Sure if Horvat was a true Lw he would be interested - Lou is always talking about “the orchestra” in how he builds teams. Trading for horvat would go against his philosophy.

Bailey needs to be a permanent healthy scratch, they definitely need to call up one of the prospects

Boeser is not of interest for the isles and Palmeri has a NTC so he won’t be moved. The isles are most likely looking at Horvat to play a LW for Barzal and take faceoffs since he is terrible on them.

On most teams Horvat would be either 1C or 2C depending on what team he's being traded to, There's no way he's playing LW when most of his career is at center.

Well that is something we can agree on, Bailey has been terrible. Obviously Johnston is not the answer, time for a call up.
