Barrie is quite a bit better and more useful than Hoffman. Both are overpaid, but 10/10 teams would keep Barrie at the same cap hit IMO

I don't know what you are thinking. You are going to intentionally suck as a team for about 3 more years, you need to develop a powerplay and you would like to steal as many picks as possible. You would be happy to get a 2nd or 3rd round pick on an expiring contract if you are in this stage.

Barrie and a second to dump his salary is the max the oilers should pay anything above that is an overpay.
