The beginning of the end before the new start, hopefully there are some nice players in the 2024-2028 drafts.

So the idea would be to make better trades and signings if Dubas is fired, not make worse ones

Ownership won't allow Murray on the team next year. I just bought him out because it's at least an option. Trade I guess is an option too, but I just decided on buyout because it's the more likely scenario, IMO, even though it does take cap room away in 2024-2025.

0% they buy him out-- more likely to send him down and eat some cap for next season. and start fresh following year.

You prefer Bunting over Wood? Craig Smith at $1M?

I don't prefer either at $4million+

Smith @ $1 million is fine-- but it doesn't improve the roster.

Wood, Talbot, Hill are bad contracts.
Deals $1million and less are irrelevant-- you can bury in the minors with no penalty.

You have not done anything. Arguably your goalies are worse, or they could be better. But that's the point.

Yeah OP seems to think he did something with the Smith deal. Those are dime a dozen during the summer. Dubas just signed 5 of them.

Murray played for the Soo Greyhounds when Dubie was the GM. He'd marry Murray if he could. How do you know Dubie will be fired? He might get a big contract extension if the Leafs win a playoff round.
