Devils are better off keeping the cheaper Holtz and Zetterlund

That's one helluva overpay for Timo Meier, who's behind Zetterlund in underlying possession metrics and PPG.
Try replacing Zetterlund + the 1st rd pick with a mid rd pick and there might be a chance of the Devils accepting but your initial suggested offer has no basis in reality.

Timo Meier is not gonna return a larger package than DeBrincat.
Timo Meier might return the same value as Fiala and Stone got, if the Sharks are lucky.
Holtz + a 3rd rd pick would be just that.

No way. The sharks don’t have to move Timo, wild had to move Fiala because they couldn’t afford him and everyone knew it. Debrincat is the worst trade comp with how much of an underpay it was. I could easily say well what about the Tkachuk trade.

Swap JBD for Thomson and I would do it

Chabot - Zub
Sanderson - Karlsson
Brannstrom - JBD

But I'm afraid it would take new ownership for EK to be back in Ottawa
