I like this from the Devils perspective as I'm very fond of the idea of moving Graves and Severson for cost controlled assets.
Even though it places a ton of responsibility on Bahl and Walsh, I think the improvement in net could make it worthwhile, say nothing for solving the goalie question long-term.
Besides, Luke Hughes (and maybe Nemec) will enter the lineup when college season is done.
This D corps just have to keep their head above water until then.

From Florida’s POV it’s just further bolstering their current cup aspirations by addressing their biggest roster needs, their defence. Adding Graves and Severson would make them ridiculously scary.
The other major piece is of course Holtz, blue chip prospect on an ELC that gives Zito some additional cap flexibility up until 2025.

Graves + Severson + Holtz = Knight
Retention + taking Hörnqvists cap + Blackwood = 2 draft picks

Since it's looking more and more likely that the big cap-jump will be for next season already the Panthers should be able to afford signing Severson and Graves to extensions.
