They drafted owen Beck who is a top faceoff guy’s, a student of the game, a gifted skater and a top student. This is their new Danault. Evans is pretty good but will likely need a big raise when is contract end and Mtl will probably start to be competitive in 2-3 years so Evans value is at is peak. If Mtl want good pieces they nees to pay a certain price. That the price of a rebuilt, i would have love to keep Toffoli and Lehkonen but the new administration have decided to built a long term success team. We have a couple of Young centerman in the pipeline and with Dach, Suzuki and Dvorak they can afford to trade Evans for valuable pieces.

We have Dach, Suzuki, Dvorak and Monahan at center. They can afford to trade one of them. Mathieu Perreault could be back for a couple of season bringing leadership and mentoring for young players.

I thought about Perreault but he can’t stay healthy and we have no one in the minor who can fill the 4C spot

There plenty of way to replace Evans, Belzile and Schnarr could play a temporary role in case of injury, there the waivers , or they can traded with a team that is in a cap crunch situation. Especially in a season where the expectations are so low.

Toffoli was horsepiss good riddance, they guy can’t skate and was horrible during the final vs TB

There no come on i have been extremely clear that belxile and schnarr could be temporary option both of them couldn’t fill a roster spot but could play a 5-10 game stretch at that position.
Toffoli was loved in the room and had a very good impact on both Suzuki and Caufield there more then just stats their also all the non measurable factor that come in to play with a player. Lehkonen was a good players and also a grade A+ teamate and human beings.

Lehkonen is my favorite player so it sucks losing him but we cashed out on him and he won’t live to that contract. Not saying Toffoli was useless here, he did a 28 goals season. But he had to go. Same goes for Dadonov Monahan Drouin Byron after this season. Stuck with Gallagher and Armia tho.

Lehkonen was a true gamer, i loved him also. Everyone except, Anderson, Barron, Harris, Suzuki, Dach , Caufield and all their prospect should be in trade talk. They need to built around those pieces and their pretty solid prospect farm

I just never liked Toffoli, I’m more a guy who likes players who can skate and forecheck. I know you need skills but guys like Toffoli Drouin Hoffman … meh. Maybe 2 and those guys should be Josh Anderson and Cole Caufield
